TRAILS More than 200 plant species, including many protea, erica and aristea species, occur within the Durbanville Nature Reserve, which protects some 6 ha of montane fynbos (heath). The best time to visit the reserve is between September and February. Location: North-east of Cape Town. Access: From Cape Town take the N1 in the direction of Paarl and turn off at the Durbancille exit; follow Durbanville Ave, turn left into Tindale Rd and continue to Race Course Rd. The nature reserve is clearly signposted from here. Accommodation: None Other facilities: Pathways; information centre. Open: Throughout the year. Opening time: 08h00 to 16h30
